In Pulitzer Prize-winner David Horsey’s acclaimed new novel, “Beach of Stars,” a college kid working a summer job in Mexico takes a beer to a young woman on a secluded beach; a simple, whimsical act that sets off a chain of events which, twenty years later, lures the man from his career in city politics into a search for the now-fugitive woman — a journey of unexpected revelations stretching from New York City to a remote Mexican beach town where he faces a star-crossed reckoning with the past.
Horsey will be talking about both his new novel, as well as his career as a political cartoonist and columnist, and how the two very different forms of artistic expression come from the same wellspring of imagination, one he seems to have been born with.
